Our eighth feature to promote businesses of DEC
Connection
members is about Zul Abbany of Raleigh NC, who also took the lead in
organizing our newest DEC Connection chapter, the Carolinas, and hosted its
opening event in October 2009. Zul's profile is especially interesting
since his business goal, like the DEC Connection's, is to keep the Digital
heritage alive!
About Zul: President of the
Americas operation of Stromasys, Zul Abbany is a highly accomplished
sales and marketing executive with a proven record of results in
expanding revenue, building channel programs, and developing partner
loyalty. |
With more than 30 years experience in the
highly competitive information technology industry, Abbany manages all
aspects of the Americas operation and is responsible for the revenue growth,
profitability, and product lifecycles of the CHARON software solution and
service in the region. Among his significant previous positions, Abbany
served as Vice President of GlobalPartner Sales for ABB, Inc., where he
successfully developed and executed the Channel Strategy that drove new
incremental revenue and led the company through different phases of
Strategic Partner Initiatives. Prior to that, as Vice President of Alliance
Development for the SAS Institute, the world’s leader in business analytics
software and services, Abbany led the division responsible for global
partner management and business development. As the Director of Global
Accounts at Compaq Computers, he led a team that developed marketing
strategies for key global accounts, generating more than $5 billion in
revenue. A veteran of Digital Equipment Corporation in Canada, he served as
Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he guided restructuring of
Canadian business operations while meeting sales targets and maintaining
revenue growth.
